iPhone 4 screen does not display, only backlight after replacement ins

I ordered a replacement screen / lcd / glass and attempted to install it today. After installing the screen only lights up.

I tried re testing the old one and it worked fine but there was no battery and it got stuck in a boot cycle when plugged in.

After putting the battery back in, turning it on and try the original screen it didn't work. Just like the replacement only the backlight works. Is a connector somewhere damaged?

Update

Nevermind, I removed the battery before swapping the screen to test the old one again. After putting the screen in I plugged it in with no battery but it just cycled booting so I placed the battery in too. The old screen worked fine.

Looks like the new one is just junk, I'll be returning it ASAP.

LVDS cable is probably not connected properly. There are 2 ribbon cable connections at the very top of the Logic board. Make sure those are seated properly.
