Why won't my MacBook power on (the I sight light just blinks)?
I've not been able to power on my macbook for a while now, the powersuply light on the cable is dim (I know my battery is dead) I've tried an smc reset, changing batteries and power cables, as well as starting from an external drive, but to no luck. The Isight light just blinks steadily (it's quite dim) and then blinks faster when I hold down the power button.
Any Ideas (both for what the blinking isight mean and to get it powering on)?
Thanks a lot!
Is this a good question?

It's a late 2006 macbook (2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, originally 1GB ram now 2.5GB).
[no liquid damage & the DC-in is fine]
I wondered if it might be the RAM, so tried what you said but to no avail, I then put the hard drive into another mac (same model) to double check that works and get another back, but that all worked fine, as I was doing this (can't remember which hard drive or RAM was installed) my Macbook decided to try and start up on it's own, after sorting that out and putting everything back where it goes my Macbook starts first time no trouble (no rhyme or reason), I had a similar problem a year back took it to the genius bar and after initially saying it was the logic board they told me it was a software problem, so to be safe I uninstalled itaf (an alarm app) as it's the only thing I think it could be as it has a start up damen, so it's now working ok, but is running on 512MB of RAM so is super slow, so I'm gonna check the RAM again at some point to see if it's the 2GB stick or the 2nd slot.
cheers.
