replaced the screen on my phone 4s and now it wont work

i just finished replacing the front screen on my 4s. I had major problems getting the battery out because the screw stripped. i ended up breaking part of the metal battery piece off of the connector. when i finished and reconnected the battery only one screw hole was still intact. i attached the battery which seems to be fully attached despite only having one screw but when i try to power on my devise nothing happens. I plugged it in and the apple symbol appeared then it went black. this happened several times before it turned on. now it is off again and i can't get it to turn on, it just goes back and forth between black and apple symbol

If its only the metal bit from the battery that you broke, a new battery should do it fine. If the metal battery connector is bent even 1mm, it will have trouble sitting properly, which would stop it from turning on/taking charge.
