How do I install an AirPort extreme?

I have viewed your hardware install and it looks easy. Would you explain what the software installation would be for a DSL router. Thanks

Hi! A DSL router generally does not require that any software be installed on your computer. Once the wireless network is set up on the router, your iBook, assuming it has a properly installed and enabled Airport card, should have an Airport icon in the upper-right corner of the screen, and when clicked on, it should display the name of your wireless network, likely among others. Once selected, assuming security is enabled, you will be prompted to enter your password, and then you will be connected to your network. Again, no software should be required.

Also, beware of Internet service providers that give you a software CD when DSL/cable modem is installed. They may leave you with the impression that it is necessary to install this software, however it is generally just a bunch of marketing material that will clutter your computer with unnecessary software and settings.
