If it was clean water, it's savable. If it was salty or dirty water (or any sticky or corrosive liquid, such as soda or coffee), then it must be opened and cleaned immediately (typically with isopropyl alcohol) to be saved.

So if it was clean water, just leave it off, put it somewhere warm and dry, and let it stay there for a good long time (a week is not unreasonable) before trying it out.

If it's not working after that, then sell it for parts. Don't throw it away.
