A part in surpluss after replacing battery

While replacing a battery bought on Ifixit in an Iphone 3GS I ended up with some kind of a little blank metal connector in surplus... I have no idea where it came from and hope somebody knows it?

Iphone doesnt work properly now - no wonder if I have failed to install some vital part.

I have taken a photo of the connector - but do not know how to upload a photo here. The connector is blank metal about 0,3 x 0,7 cm, looks like the number "9" but with a straight line down, the straight part with a bend and a litle "hook" at the end. I cannot find this part shown or mentioned in the manual.

Hi HH,

I think that the piece you are talking about is to hold the camera in place.

Check out the picture in Step 10 of the "Installing iPhone 3GS Battery" instructions, and also refer to Step 12 for some details about the piece.

Hope this helps!

Henry
