About a day ago, I started to realize that my headphone jack wasn't responding to the headphones. I get sound into my headphones, but the computer doesn't recognize it and still plays the music out loud, defeating the purpose of the headphones and making me nearly unable to use it for anything with sound. How do I fix it?

ewengreg8, it is possible that the contacts inside the jack are stuck. Use your headphones and insert and remove them in rapid succession for a bit. This may free the contact. You could also try to clean it with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol and some compressed air. I do not recommend sticking anything in it. Hope this helps, good luck.
