The Apple logo means Apple ordered the drive and got a cut.

Standard Hard Drive: 750 GB (5400 RPM) Int. HD Interface: Serial ATA (6 Gb/s)

I wouldn't do this for just the additional 250 mb of storage. At least go to a faster drive.

Well. Mine came with the Toshiba MK7559GSXF which runs at 3 Gigabit only. That's why I'm considering this upgrade, besides, the 250GB is a welcome expansion, since I'm considering the dual boot scenario...

Please let me know if you have better option.

I also understand form your comment that there should be no foreseen problems with this drive. is that the case?

Thanks

Here's a benchmark on your drive vs a 7400 rpm drive: http://my2011macbookpro.com/5400-vs-7200...
