Need Help With ID'ing Black Multi Wire Cable, From LCD to PSU
Hello, I'm repairing a 2008 IMac 8.1 Intel 24" A1225. It started off swapping out Hard Drives due to original failed. Won't go into how Apple screwed me royally!! (Sold me 27" I7 knowing apple works was no longer compatible...) I replaced the WD HD with a SeaGate Barracuda 1TB. (Anyone else using this drive?) Thought all went well but after putting ething back together, She didn't turn on.
Further inspection revealed 2 bad capacitors, both (16v 457uf) which I found thanks to your site... Applying another one of your guides.
While starting to putting the comp back together I noticed my 5mo old Rottweiler is chewing on a something... Nervous it was something bad for her health, I investigated.... Little did I know what she was chewing on would be fatal!!! LOL
Cause it was the cable that runs from underneath the LCD to the under side of the PSU. I checked videos and web sites, but I can not find the actual name for this cable. Or even better a part number. I attempted to purchase a LCD Cable but, I don't want to end up with the wrong one.
I see multiple cables that look the same but have different names. Optical Drive.... Sata...ect....
It would be greatly appreciated if someone can ID this cable so i can order it. I thank you for your time. And find great comfort in finding your site.
PS... I found where that white mic wire ran to.....Sad to say it took a couple hrs and a lot of swearing...lol Now wonder I couldn't find it.... I mean a mouse turds bigger.....All the while it was right inside the upper bezel.... This is even after watching your videos over and over...lol
This is the cable in Step 11 in the link.
Edited to leave links to different sites, which sell possible cable I'm looking for...
But decided not to, remembered you sell parts as well..
Is this a good question?
