How to remove a cd stuck inside my mac?

A cd has been stuck inside my mac for almost a year. The guy at the Apple Store tried to fix it, doing all sorts of trick on the keyboard, and also using a bit of cardboard inside the slot.

Didn't work.

He said I have to send my mac for repair, which will cost a small fortune, and it's without any guarantee it will work afterwards.

So, any tips?

The Apple Store guy was most likely right but if you are handy you can pull the drive yourself and take out about 6 screws on the drive and remove the disk. Then put it all back together and hope for the best.

Here are the instructions for removing the drive:

iBook G4 14" 933 MHz-1.33 GHz Optical Drive Replacement

And if you need it here is a replacement drive:

Many options but choose the one you need if you still need it after pulling apart.

Good luck
