Liquid Damage, Keyboard Trackpad only work "option" key selections?

I find this a little weird so I was hoping someone could shed some light.

After my macbook pro had liquid damage the keyboard and trackpad will not work when the computer boots into it's primary or recovery partitions.

They will work, however, when holding down the option key and having my boot options come up. After I select a boot partition they no longer work.

USB keyboard and mouse do work when booted.

Any insight??? I know my way around but this doesn't make sense to me.

You need to open your system and clean your trackpad & keyboard. You'll need to take the system fully apart Upper case teardown Then you will need to disassemble the keyboard it's self. Here's a vid on the process to 15" key board teardown

The other option is replacing the upper case/keyboard assembly.

You spilled liquid onto/into your keyboard and you'r puzzled it doesn't work- electronics and liquid do not mix. That, by chance, the only key that works is the option key is unusual but not a sign that the rest of the keyboard is good. Replace your keyboard all will be well until corrosion does more damage.
