Solid Red Screen after digitizer replacment

After a digitizer replacement the LCD is solid red see photo. I tried another LCD same issue, so its clearly something on the board/connector but it was not like this before the repair.

Any help is appreciated.

It's some sort of loose cable. I've had the exact same thing happen to me after my ipad2 experienced a slight drop on the floor.

(You can still see things on the screen, but the red pattern is still always sort of there in the background, right?)

Anyways, I read about this happening to other people online (try googling it) and the solution suggested one place, was to punch the back of the iPad.

I turned it around, gave it a good solid couple of whacks, and it fixed the problem, works fine now.

You most likely picked up a defective LCD. You can always try a hard reset, if it doesn't change anything this is probably the issue.

The LCD was fine before the glass replacement. I tried a known good LCD and the iPad had the same issue. I still would like to know what causes this
