Touch screen is not working for the icons but works in apps.

Hello, I have an iphone 3gs. The problem with the screen is that I can not select any icons on the home screen the first row above the home row.

The funny thing is that when the keyboard is on screen(same area of the screen) every key works like it should. The other thing is that I can still swipe side to side in that area but I can't select any icons.

Thanks for any help.

Your touch panel is dead, change it.

It only doesn't work for the icons though. Why would it still work in all of the apps?

The touch panel is composed of a gate, commonly called a matrix. if one or two lines of this matrix fail, then a part of the touch panel will not work.
