Water Damaged Keyboard - OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion won't install

My computer runs fine, but has a few quirks since spilling a glass of water on it. A few keys don't work, so I've gone to using an external keyboard.

My computer won't sleep, and there is one shift key that causes other functions.

I've installed multiple OS X Lion updates, including the latest today, 10.7.5.

OS X Mountain Lion won't install on my computer. It unpacks and whatnot, then restarts, and boots right back in to OS X Lion.

How can I get around this? I'm assuming there's a check taking place in this larger update that's safety-failing the installation. How do you disable it?

No, I do not have money to repair at this time. If I did I wouldn't be here asking for a workaround.

Mountain Lion is not an update but a new OS. If you do not meet the requirements of processor, RAM and free space it won't install. We don't do software hacks here.
