How to know the damage level of a coke spill?

I spilled coke over my macbook pro 15 unibody mid 2010.

The computer works fine, but the people in the Mac technical service, told me that the logic board was fried, that in any time the computer may stop working.

Like i said...The computer still works fine except for some weird behavior of some keys that doesn't works every time.

The computer will be dead soon? or will live forever?.

What can i do to be shure that can i keep my macbook

ps: the incident occurred 3 weeks ago and still every thing is ok inspite of the keys

Dismantle the laptop. if main logic board have a coke on it then slowly it will be dead or giving you the problem later on. if logic board is cleaned no liquid spillage then change the keyboard only. if have then clean it properly with acetone .

Thanks very much.

I was planing to cleanit with an Electrical contact cleaner.

But is weird that nothing fails ... The posibility that nothing happend exist.

What do you think?

Instead of Acetone, like SIMRAN suggested, use a high grade of isopropyl alcohol. Acetone had a tendency of dissolving some plastics, and it is hard to get.

Don't use the electrical contact cleaner you'll make more of a mess!

First - Coke (of any soda, Coffee or Tea) has Sugar which won't dissolve with a Freon cleaner. You need to use water (distilled) using a damp cloth or cotton bud (Q-Tip) wipe the areas that is sticky. Coke also has an acid which over time will eat the metal parts. So don't let it sit that way too long.

Second - A contact cleaner has a lubricant in it which will leave a film over every thing! If you use a non-lubricant cleaner that would get rid of anything oily spilled (not the case here)
