How far can I upgrade my OS

I am wondering how far I can upgrade the OS on this older model of Mac Mini? I bought a refurbished A1176 with 10.4.1.1 on it but would like to go up to at least 10.5 so I can use itunes and get a decent Word program on it. Is this a possibility?

Your machine will upgrade to 10.6.8 if you have at least 2 GB of RAM.
