Charger Port on MID VIA8650 Android Tablet-The charging port is broken

A friend gave me this tablet and let me know that the she was having problems keeping it charged. Upon finding out that the charger was broken I bought a new one and thought that might take care of it but i soon figured out that the charger port was broken and that if I held the charger a certain way it would charge but if I let it stopped and the battery drained rapidly. She did not have a manual or anything with it so I have no way of knowing how or it I can disassemble it to repair it . ANY SUGGESTIONS other than chuck it and get a new one.
