Internal mic works only when display is almost fully or fully opened. So could it be mic connector on the logic board or the mic cable? Any experience of this fault? If I looked from the guide section correctly there should be a screw securing mic cable to the computer. So is it more likely that the cable is broken? I hope it is a loose connector because it would be easier to fix..

I think you've made an accurate diagnosis of the issue. I'd replace the cable, probably Apple part #922-7888. I'd also examine the inverter cables that travel the same hinge while you're at it. I don't know your exact machine but this part will work in the following and can be found for $1.00 with a web search.
