Broken power button, jump start?

Tried to search google for a way to jump start my Macbook Pro where my power button is broken. I have read a few guides, but they are all targetted at other versions of the macbook pro.

Does anyone have a clue how to do this?

Be careful - you do not want to ruin the board if it's good.

Had the same issue with my 2010 MBP.

All but Power button is working.

I have jump started the machine, thanks to this link

You just have to touch the two pins with a flat screw driver.

Try this by touching the pins with the screw driver a few times.

This saved my old MBP

I would say if your warranty has expired,

you have nothing to lose,

i.e. you cannot damage a damaged LogicBoard,

or if you mess it up (or not)

Apple will offer you a replacement of the LB anyways.

This jump start saved me about 400USD,

what was the offer of Apple

as they said, "we have to replace the LB is necessary, no other way" !?!?!

Try it, maybe with an friend who has more knowledge of electronics

And just jump start it.

My old MBP now works perfectly, my wife uses it, just said her not to turn it off
