Screen goes blank after 2 seconds

I have replaced the power inverter and the power inverter cable and am still having the same problem. The screen goes black after a couple seconds. Is there any other suggestions out there?

Options

Connect to an external monitor. If there's no display your VCG (VPU) is shot and you need a new logic board. If the external monitor works I'm thinking LCD is bad as you've changed the easier cheaper components in the chain.
