About dual hard drive: do I have to swap the native HDD with the SSD?

I'd like to keep my original HDD and replace the optical bay by a SSD.

I know that the SSD should be used to host the operating system but should I swap the HDD ? Meaning, should I replace the original HDD by the SSD and place the original HDD into the optical bay ? Or can I just add the SSD into the optical bay without speed loss or booting issue ?

Hi,

1.- You want OSX on the SSD as it would run way faster than on a HDD.

2.- I dont know if you might have to swap positions because you could just define that it boots from the SSD that would be on the Optical Drive bay without seed loss or booting issues.

I/O speed and booting are to reasons people swap things around. If you want the SSD to be the bootable volume you must use the HD SATA connection, then put the HD in the optical drive accessing it's connection.
