Screen not working after fall, But digitizer still does...

Alright so my sister is clumsy and dropped her ipad, the screen shows nothing and once and awhile on a reboot for a split second goes blue and it is apparently the boot screen, it then goes totally dark. I have trouble shooted a little and found that it actually turns on and everything is working except the screen.

What I'm thinking is a connector or ribbon cable became unseated during the fall.

What's your opinion?

sounds like a back light issue to me.

1 of 2 things can fix this.

1. install a new screen assembly and its easy as that :)

2. the backlight IC is damamged on the mother board. this will entail that it needs an advanced repair done that requires very skilled hands.

try the first one and see if that works, but if not look on ebay or local repair shops if you need to do number 2.

Try replacing the LCD only. Not the assembly. the screen isn't an assembly on the ipad 2 if these other two do not work.

1. Something similar happened to my friends IPhone and I just disconnected the lcd cable and reconnected, disconnected the battery, and it worked afterwards.

2. it might need a new display data cable only, but I'm not sure how that would get damaged during the fall
