Where to place bore holes at the back without destroying components?

I like to construct a holder for an iPhone for my Apple wireless keyboard A1255 (the version with 3 batteries).

I don't want to use velcro, glue, clamps etc.

I like to drill to holes into the back part (the part which contains the batties on the right side.

Into the holes I just want to stick two tiny bicycle spokes. These two spokes get a piece of velcro which allows to stick the iphone onto it.

My question:

At which place of the back end of the keyboard can you drill holes without destroying inside parts?

Did anyone opened such a keyboard?

Thanks for your help.

Aside from the number of batteries (length of tray) it would be the same as this. If you measure so that you do not strike between the battery contacts I don't think there's anything that you would damage by drilling small holes. Be sure to use a good vacuum to keep any metal from getting inside the tube.

Thanks a lot for the hint. The teardown documentation helps :)

To explain the motif for my question:

I'm looking for a nice way to fix an iphone (removable of course) onto the keyboard.

It should be a fixation, which doesn't need a table for the keyboard to lie on.

I want to be able to use the "laptop for the poor" ;) even on my knees, occasionally.

Of course on can glue velcro onto the back. But that's ugly, when you use the keyboard without the iphone.

Until know I haven't got a perfect idea for a holder.

If anyone reads this posting and likes to tell me about a nice solution he has seen: you are welcome.

P.S.: Is there any way to get a notification about new comments by mail? I couldn't find such an option.
