Replacing upper case problem trying to detach display data cable lock

While replacing the upper case on my 2010 macbook pro I broke a gold colored piece attached to logic board on step 7. MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010 Upper Case Replacement The cable lock still fits in without problems but the gold part it slides under detached from one side. Now I cannot get my computer to turn on at all. I took it apart again and reinstalled and this is the only piece that is not put together correctly. Any advice appreciated.

You might see if you can find a service or professional to re-solder or replace the broken connector. You may have to purchase a blown out board to obtain the connector. This is not a DIY sort of repair - especially for someone who tor the connector off. Soldering, removing replacing logic board components require special tools and skills. Investigate the costs, it might be more economical to replace the logic board.
