Can I Fix My Home Button Socket?

I recently changed the screen on my IPhone 4, so while i was at it i thought i would replace the home button..

When taking the ribbon out of the socket i pulled the socket up. Now the screens fine but the home button won't work. Can i fix this? or have i caused a major problem?
