iPod Touch 4th gen unresponsive, won't power on after a far drop.

Yep, I've done it. Photo of broken part

My iPod touch took a fall of about six or seven feet. It was in a rubberized case, so I think that may have lessened the shock a bit, but I think it's dead. I've tried all the soft reset/restore options, and today I finally opened it up. I found a broken "ribbon," I think. I'm not very familiar with electronics, so I've no idea what it could be called, or if it could be the culprit. I've attached a photo of it.

Here's my question. I've got a 3rd gen touch that's currently usable. Any chance I could transplant some parts and get the 4th gen back up? Is there anyone out there who wants to play puppet master to my guinea pig? Walk me through a fix?

Cheers!

Absolutely none of the parts interchange. Maybe a few chips but nothing to fix your issue.
