Digitizer cable does not stick.?

I recently bought a new screen to replace on my itouch 4g and got through the whole process fine, but when i go to cloce the new screen onto the rest of the device the digitizer cable comes loose and won't stay stuck on the connection point resulting in my screen not working at all. The screen works if I hold the digitizer cord on the connection point but as soon as i go to close the screen it turns off. What should i do to get it to stick?

Options

Once it is connected you should hear a light click sound. It has to be lined up very close to click in place. There is a bumper installed on the back of the board that if it doesn't come off with the old connector it will hold the connector off and not click in.
