How would I turn On and Off passing the Keyboard?

I am facing a replacement of my MacBook Pro 15" Unibody keyboard. Bought an OEM on eBay, etc. Have been perusing the iFixit tutorial. I find that the Upper Case Instructions stop before it gets me to replacing the keyboard. I would be satisfied with shorting the Power switch as well. However, the suggestions here would indicate that the case cannot be closed after shorting. Not practical. How would I turn On and Off once the connectors have been shorted, bypassing the Keyboard?

Thank you so much,

Peter

You might bypass the power on switch using System Preferences: Energy Saver. You can set the computer to shutdown and startup automagically. This would work if you knew what time each day you'd like to start using the machine.

If you identified the exact model of your macbook (there are 11 different ones) complete directions should be available for as simple top case/keyboard replacement. (Some models do not have replaceable keyboards... they are integrated).
