My phone had been working fine for the longest time, then one day when I went to charge it up, nothing happens. It is not the charger, because it charges my dads phone just fine. I really need this phone and I don't know what's wrong!

Cass, you did not tell us what Samsung phone you have. Anyhow, if your cables are okay and your charging port has no other issues, the first thing I would do is to replace the battery with a new one. At least with that, you will have a clean, known to be good, starting point for further trouble shooting. Remember that a dead battery will not charge. Hope this helps, good luck.
