How to fix the backlight that's now constantly dim after water damage?

My Blackberry Torch 9800 was water damaged months ago however, it has now dried out fully and everything is working other than the backlight.

I can see everything in the phone clearly when shining a torch onto the screen and the touch screen also works.

I'm hoping this can be fixed if anyone can give me some advice or ideas please?

Louise, of course you already unchecked "automatically dim backlight" Considering the water damage, I would suggest to start with a new LCD. It is possible that the backlight circuit got shortened out.
