iPhone 3GS, white mildly lit screen on charging, doesnt Boot. Help!

iPhone 2GS, jailbroken, iOS 5.1.1 was working fine.

Recently and frequently, when the iphone shuts down due to low battery, the screen becomes kind of 'lit', that is a soft glow and nothing seen on the screen. Not exactly white screen, but faint glow.

Connected to the power cable, after a while, when it gets powered up, it starts up with the apple logo and the circular bootup ring.

But yesterday, the phone lost battery and powered down. Connected it to the power cable and left it for quite a long time but hasn't booted up again.

Tried hard reset. The glow (or lit up screen or white screen) goes off as if switching down and it becomes black, no logo appears or the phone starts.

I would very very much appreciate any help or directions what I should do next. I tried to wade through tens and hundreds of white screen questions, but the answers do seem to work/apply to me.

Please help.

Ok, I got the Solution.

There is a HUGE difference between the WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH and the YELLOW SCREEN OF DEATH.

Apparently, the soft glow that I was seeing on my screen was the YELLOW screen of death that is displayed when the iphone is very low on power or when it is being charged.

So, all one has to do when faced with the YELLOW screen of death is to connect it to a wall charger and leave IT BE for atleast 30 mins. At the end of a bit long, it will EVENTUALLY power up.

In my case, probably the battery is at its end of life and thus took almost an hour to power up enough for a nice boot.

Hope this will solve somebody's problem. Cheers.
