The Polaroid 600 OneStep series uses Polaroid's 600 Platinum film. This type of film cartridge contains its own battery. If your Polaroid 600 OneStep will not power on, the chances are good that the film cartridge's battery is dead. Unfortunately, this renders the film cartridge useless; it requires replacement. Once you replace it with a new film cartridge, the camera should power back on. WARNING: FILM NO LONGER MANUFATURED, October 6, 2009 By Craig A. Bratcher Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Polaroid One-Step 600 Instant Camera (Camera) There is still stock left, perhaps a year's supply on the market, but after that- it's GONE forever. Polaroid stopped making the film months ago. Apparently, in rsponse to the fact that their patent expired, so Fuji is selling their Instax instant cameras, which are MUCH higher quality and better film resolution. I guess Polaroid rightfully decided they couldn't compete, so they threw in the towel. The fact they are still selling the cameras is dubious indeed.
