I called Hisense customer support at +18889358880.  The automated line made several recommendations to reset them hard reset.  Those didn't work.  Last it recommended downloading the firmware to a thumb drive from their web site.

Then plug that thumb drive into the TV and turn it back on.  It worked!!!

I did loose all my presets as this reset the TV to factory presets but small price to pay to fix it without purchasing any hardware.
