Replaced SSD with external now Monterrey not opening disk images.

Imac17,1 (Late 2015).
Internal SSD ( Official Apple) failed.
Not wanting to open my iMac up just yet, I bought an external SDD, restored to El Capitan and then High Sierra, all working fine, until I Update to Monterrey, then some strange behaviour, no disk images will mount (DMG files), no external drives including SD Card will mount (although the boot drive is external and works fine) and bluetooth refuses to turn on for around 10-15 minutes after bootup, but then works fine.
Everything was fine on the previous OS versions. I've reinstalled multiple times and get the same problem everytime.
