I waited thinking it would be an update issue but it wasn’t.
 
# Take a thin needle
# Run it around the circumference of the steel grill (This takes out the adhesive layer)
# Nudge the grill up slowly with the needle.
# Put on earbud and check if it is back to being equally loud as it used to be.
# If YES, remove the black sheath.
# Put the grill back.
# Enjoy the earbuds.
