Title:

2014 15" MacBook Pro trackpad becoming less responsive

Text:

Mid 2014 15” MacBook Pro clicking on my trackpad is becoming less responsive.
It scrolls fine. Gestures work fine. Moving the cursor around is fine. The keyboard is working fine - responds very well. No issues there.
I’m noticing issues when I click and hold trackpad to do things like in Photoshop; to make multiple selections; to hold and select multiple words/lines of text; that sort of thing.
Occasionally just single-clicking is not as responsive. I have to click/hold with much more firmer pressure at times to make a selection.
+
+Another example. Clicking and dragging an icon from the desktop; whether to the trash; or when I dragged the coconut battery screenshot to the image window of this forum... those are the kind of trackpad issues I am having.
I have not opened up my laptop to see if I see anything physical yet. I have no problem doing that. Coconut Battery says my battery is functioning at 99% capacity.
Is response issue common with this model or just normal wear and tear?
I don’t mind replacing/repairing myself (have done quite a few); or should Apple look at it?
Thx for answers.
