If you do so have the experience and the proper equipment to do what you are asking then yes, replacing the glass should solve any “ghost touching” issues you have. Is it logical, no. Is it possible, yes. You are likely to break something while trying to remove the glass and you may not even be able to re-install the screen properly and have it work normally. However, if you use extreme precision you might be able to pull this one off.
