The battery adhesive strips tend to break if they are not pulled out properly. Also, with time, they tend to dry up and tear very easily. Adding a bit of IPA under the battery helps, as does applying some heat prior to removal. Removing the vibrator also helps with the removal of the strips. Now when the strips are broken, the safest way to remove the battery is to [guide|29868|remove] the logic board first. That allows you to apply some prying force without potentially damaging the board. Again, applying some IPA will help here. Use a flat card, like a playing card, and gently try to tear through the adhesive. Don't use sharp, pointy or metallic objects as you can puncture the battery and cause a fire.
