The LCD driver circuit also powers the Touch circuits, which are pretty much directly underneath on the backside of the logic board. Also near the connectors are dozens of passive components (capacitors, inductors, resistors) that are involved in one way or another with the screen and peripheral functionality (camera, sensors etc). So essentially everything required for proper screen functions is right where you noticed some issues. While this may be fixable, unless you have proper tools and experience, I would suggest that you find a repair shop that does micro-soldering repairs, preferably one that works on a no fix no fee basis. Not all water damaged logic boards can be repaired though so you will need to determine how much more you are willing to invest in this project.
