It is possible that the '''IP3G-2059 Audio IC''' located on the logic board is bad. To test this, put your logic board into another iPhone and test the headphone jack and audio through the dock as well. If you have perfect sound, then the headphone assembly will need to be replaced. If it is not, then you will need to replace the chip on the board, send it for repair, or replace the board. As for the mic, when you test the other problem make a test call or use the voice recorder to see how the mic is working properly. If it is, then the mic which is a part of the dock assembly is the culprit.
