I refuse to pay these absorbent prices so I just use another MacBook in target disk mode. These sleds cost less than $1 to make. It's only because they're new. The 2013 MacBook Air adapters go for $12 on eBay and when they come out with adapters for the 2016 MacBooks, the current ones will drop to $10. It's ridiculous. A regular 2.5 hard drive adapter is like $3, but 10 years ago, they were about $40. Fortunately, I work in a repair shop so there's always a MacBook to use.
