I had the Power-On-Click/Power-Off-Problem. Most forums told "it was dead".. IT(bad soldering contacts, powersupply etc.) ..IT WORKS AGAIN NOW.NOW:

The issuesolution is to make PROM-Resetmaimboard-reset WHILE POWERCABLE PLUGGED!! Remove onboard-battery first. The manual shows the motherboard-reset with working battery! While the mac is plugged to power you don't need any battery - worst case is lost of date and time settings.

I don't know any electronic device that does anything WITHOUT POWER :-)
