That's a dead/dying drive. Replace the hard drive with a [product|IF107-098] from iFixit. You may be able to back up your data using an external drive enclosure or a SATA to USB adapter, but if the drive is dead, it's dead.
The sound you heard was the spindle motor trying to spin up but because of an internal blockage, it cannot do so. Additionally, you can't open up hard drives without destroying them. Once you introduce dust into a hard drive, the entire thing may fail to work ever again.
