Title:

Why is my computer slow?

Text:

I bought the computer new in 2011 and have watched its responses become slower and slower. Is the remedy for this simply upgrading it's RAM? It currently has two 2gb chips. I am considering two new 4gb chips as replacements but do not want to make the purchase if it will not solve my "slowness" problem.

My HD is 320gb and is not full (nearly 100gb free) and I do not want to spend an excessive amount on a SSD if I don't need to.

Would a RAM upgrade be enough to bring my computer back up to speed?

Thanks!
