I agree with Sam V my 2TBplugged the WD MyPassportMy Passport Ultra initially worked (for several months) oninto my 2009 MacBook ProWindow 8.* laptop and pulled up Windows 8 laptopDisk Management to ensure I had exFAT formatting and my LG SmartTV (all without external power source). Earlier this weekthat the %#*@ thing would not mount on the MBP even though every other similar WD or Seagate external (all without external power sources) works. BTW I've donepartition was ACTIVE. Corrected both, did a complete reformat as opposed to a quick format exFAT onsafe eject and plugged it back into the Windows laptop.

I've purchased DiskWarrior 5 to see if I can make it work before I beat it to death with a hammer (kidding). Every other electronic device that can use
MacBook Pro and OSX 10.10 now mounts the drive. It works, try it.
