iPhone 4: How to fix Error 2001, 2006 restore issues, possibly battery?

Hello. I bought an iPhone 4 online that said that it was stuck in error 21 and would not restore. After doing much research and trying different solutions, I am now getting error 2001 and error 2006 when attempting to restore to iOS 6.1.3 with iTunes. When attempting the restore, the "connect to iTunes screen" on the iPhone goes blank flashes quickly to a blue screen, and then to the apple logo, and then back to the connect to iTunes logo and either error 2001 or 2006 appears. (same thing when i tried a custom restore) I have the latest version of iTunes, am using a macbook pro mid 2012, am using an apple usb cord, and do not have any other things connected to my laptop. There is no battery icon that appears when the iphone is connected in iTunes, and the iPhone only is on when connected to the macbook. Will replacing the battery be the solution to having a working iPhone? (there is no warranty with apple) or have i bought a phone that cannot be repaired?

also the top water sensor indicates that there was water damage

iPhone 3GS: Does not charge or recognized by pc

Hi there, besides my Ipod trouble I also have an Iphone issue. Since there are 4 in my household I suppose it was bound to happen:) Anyhow one day my Iphone started to turn itself off without any reason at all turned it back on and this happened multiple times. Now the Iphone can not be charged by the Computer and is not recognized. Stays absolutely dark and dead when plugged in the PC on any USB port. When I plug it into my AC adapter it comes on and charges but the moment I unplug the cord from the charger the Iphone dies again. Anyone have any idea. New Battery? New Logicboard? Iphone4? Thanks.

iPhone 4S: No service after screen replacement.

Ive changed countless LCD and digizers and never had an issue, work on my own 4s, and **** hits the fan.

I changed the LCD and digitizer in my launch day 4s and ever since i cant get any signal for my cellular. I tried my antenna (the part on the speaker) in a friends iphone 4 and it works fine. Wifi works fine, bluetooth seams to work, but no cellular. Once in awhile i can get 1 bar, sometimes itll go full signal, then it'll cut right out and die on me again. Anyone have any tips? did i maybe forget a screw that im not seeing? Exactly what screws (or anything else) is required to make the cellular service work? I can see my imei number, so i know the baseband itself is working even when i have no service.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

iPhone 4: Why "No Service" after replacing LCD screen?

I just replaced a broken screen on my iPhone 4, and now the phone says, "No Service." It detects the SIM card, and I was able to go to the home screen after inserting the SIM card and connecting to iTunes. But it still does not detect any service networks. It says, "Searching...." then goes to "No Service."

There might be a few screws that aren't exactly the right size, and I've tried switching some of them to no avail. I am sure that the screw for the battery connector is correct. I am told the antenna is connected via screws. Is this correct? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

iPhone 4: wi-fi distance was reduced

Couple days ago I dropped my iPhone 4 on the floor. As a result it's display was cracked. But the phone kept their functionality: GSM, WI-FI, GPS worked fine. I decided to change display, so I asked my friend to help me. He disassembled my iPhone, and replaced old cracked display with new one. I was very glad, my iphone seemed like new....but unfortunately I noticed that after dissasembling the iphone's WI-FI became to work worth than before dissasembling. My iphone doesn't see my office's wifi network any more. In my home I have to be in a room with wi-fi router to use wi-fi. :-(( It seems like the iphone wi-fi module is not connected to it's antenna...but me and my friend do not know where it should be connected. If anybody know where it should be connected, or what is wrong please answer :-)) Thanks!!!

iPhone 6s: CPU slow when battery low!

Hi,

This week I’ve placed 4 new OEM batteries into 4 iPhone 6S’s. All 4 customers came back with the same issue: when the percentage goes below 20%, the phone starts to lag so much they cannot use it anymore. As soon as it is plugged into a charger, the issue disappears.

For the past 7-8 years, i’ve been repairing iPhones, and last year alone I’ve replaced at least 70 iPhone batteries without any complaint. January and february i didnt do any repairs because of work abroad, and now in march i get all this trouble. Could this be because of iOS 11.2.6? Is this an extreme case of CPU throttle? How can i reset this? Will iOS 11.3 fix this?

I hope someone can clear this out because this seems like Apple trying to eliminate 3rd party repairs!

Thank in advance

iPhone 4 Verizon: iPhone turns off as soon as I put the back cover on.

I work as a repair tech at a cell phone repair store. And this is something i've never seen as long as i've been working in the business.

An iPhone 4 CDMA came in for a screen and back cover replacement. So we did the repair and the phone worked fine. The customer came back in about a week later saying the phone wont turn on. It ONLY turns on when it's plugged in to the wall. So naturally I decide to swap the battery, and it still doesn't work. So I try more batteries, and none of them are working. I got fed up with putting the back on so many times I decided to try the rest of the batteries with the back off. The first battery worked, so I said OK. I went to go put the back on, and as soon as I put it on the phone died.

Then I took the back off and the phone powered up again, (powering it on with the button).

As soon as I put the back on, it works. As soon as I slide the back down into place, the iphone dies.

Also, with the phone back off and the phone working, it does all sorts of things. The battery percentage is extremely imprecise. Jumping from 32%, to 47%, and to 100%, and to 0%. I know it's not a battery issue as i've tried about 20 batteries. Does anyone think it could be the charge port? Or some kind of chip on the mobo that reads the battery's percentage?

I've never seen this before in my life and I need help, I can't find anyone else on the internet that this has happened to. I don't quite like having to refund people their money, and neither does my employer.

iPhone 4: iPhone 4 mic not working during call

Hi,

probably this question has been asked many times

here is my problem

i have an iphone 4, during incoming or outgoing call, i can hear other people, but other people can't hear me, i've tried speaker mode, same thing. have not try headphone with mic yet.

i tried to go to camera, and record a short clip, i can hear my own voice though, so it is only happening during calls.

here is what I've tested so far

i have another perfectly working iphone 4, so i began to swapping parts.

first, i swapped the motherboard only, and it seems like it is not the motherboard. because the mic problem iphone motherboard transfer to a good phone, and i can hear people and other can hear me.

and the good iphone motherboard on the bad mic iphone housing still have the mic problem.

my guess i narrowed it down to the housing.

so continued swapping the bottom speaker, bottom mic and charging port, it seems like these parts from bad iphone housing to a good iphone are working.

so it doesn't seem like problem on lower mic and charging port, lower speaker/antenna.

what else should i try?

I think I may know what I did wrong now that I look back...I had yanked this old iphone cable from my iphone without realizing that it had those side lock buttons...

Then my home button stopped working. I took it in and they told me to re install everything. I did that twice and it went to the emergency screen. So I brought it back...and they said they'd fix it only to tell me that they couldn't because I had "unlocked" it and therefore voided the warranty. I actually had to ask them what "unlocking" was!!!!

Anyways, so frustration aside, I picked it up today and was able to restore everything from my backup. But then it started acting up. Now the screen goes back and forth as if fingers where swiping to the search screen or the second screen of apps. If I open an app, it automatically goes back to the home screen and then jumps around to other things. It's acting like it's possessed!!

iPhone 3G: iPhone 3G Wi-Fi Not Working - Solution

Hello,

I have some news for the people whose Wi-Fi is not working.

I tried many things and now have more concrete facts about this problem.

My Wi-Fi can't find any networks.

First, I thought that the problem was the Wi-Fi antenna.

On eBay there are many "Wi-Fi antennas". All the vendors tell that this antenna http://www.traderscity.com/board/userpix... handles the Wi-Fi, but it is not the right one.

I disconnected the cable mentioned above and Wi-Fi was still working. Only the GPS stopped working, so the Wi-Fi antenna must be somewhere else.

I think that this part http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sk... handles the Wi-Fi and the 3G. I changed the part, but the phone was still not finding any networks so I thought that the Wi-Fi chip on the logic board may be broken.

I wanted to make another test so I installed the jailbroken app called "mywii". With this app you can open a ad hoc network with your phone. The app works, so the Wi-Fi chip is not broken.

In conclusion, the Wi-Fi antenna and chip are working fine, but phone is not finding any networks. This is very strange. I have no idea what the problem can be, but its not the antenna and not the Wi-Fi chip.

I also tried resetting network settings, as well as updating and restoring the phone, but nothing works.

Today I was taking a picture at a white background and I noticed this dark shape on my camera. I thought that it was dust or something on my lens and cleaned it carefully with some cotton and some cleaning substance for lens and they looked clean with no scratch or anything. When I opened the camera app again, the spot was still there. I never dropped my phone in water or anything. I dropped it from like 40cm on its face, but it's been like a month since then and i checked my old photos. The spot wasn't present.

Definitely it's something in there. When i zoom in, the spot gets bigger. When i zoom out, it immediately disappears, no matter the zoom out value under 1. Also, in portrait mode the spot isn't visible.

What can it be? A friend of mine told me that it can be a software problem but i doubt…

Thank you!
