iPad Air: iPad Air 1 not charging after replacing digitizer.

I replaced the digitizer on an iPad Air 1. The iPad shows that it is charging and the tone is heard when plugged in, still it does not charge above 40%. I am using an official charger and cable that works on another iPad. This is not the first digitizer that I have replaced. I have reset and downloaded the most current iSO. I followed the ifixit instructions. I am at end on what to try next. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

iPad 2 Wi-Fi EMC 2415: Where can you find only the digitizer flex cable?

I finally dropped & cracked the touch screen glass on my iPad 2 wi-fi. Everything worked fine; the glass was only cracked. I even successfully removed the broken glass and installed the new touch screen with digitizer flex cable / ribbon. Before adhering the new glass to the backing, I tested the touchscreen, all buttons, wifi connection, camera. All of it was working! Then at the LAST POSSIBLE SECOND I fumbled and ripped the flex cable to the touch screen near where it adheres to the back panel (what luck!). I have searched everywhere for ONLY this flex cable to replace on my new touch screen. I don't want to have to buy the entire touch screen glass with the flex ribbon again. I just want a new cable. Does such a thing exist?? Do I have to buy an entirely new glass? Is it possible to remove the flex cable from my broken glass and use it on the new glass?

iPad Air: Smart cover sensors (Hall Effect) too sensitive after new digitizer

Hello,

So I have replace the digitizer on two different iPads now, and both have exhibited the same behavior. After replacement the Apple smart cover now affects the sleep/awake sensors from the BACK of the iPad. So when you fully flip back the cover, it will actually shut the iPad OFF. Both of these iPads used a smart cover before the repair with no issues. The first one I did, I wasn't able to troubleshoot as the adhesive was already in place before we discovered the issue. But for the second one, I left it "apart" with the new screen to test.

Oddly, even if I fully disconnect the new digitizer, and put it far away, the smart cover still shuts the iPad off and on from the back. So that tell me that it has nothing to do with the new digitizer. So I then took two magnets, and tried to play with the sensors. Reading many articles, it appears that the Air 1 requires TWO magnets to be in place for the awake/sleep functions to work. However, in my case, I only need to use ONE magnet over the right-most trigger point to make the iPad turn on/off. It's like the one next to the home button doesn't do anything anymore (or more accurately, constantly sees a field). Any ideas what is causing this? I was thinking heat (from removing the glass), but these components are pretty deep in.

Any thoughts?

iPad 2: Digitizer/Screen keeps popping up after replaced? any help?

I have replaced the screen/digitizer on probably 5 or 6 ipad 2's and on every single one i have replace the most difficult thing is to keep the screen/digitizer glued down, it keeps popping up in one problem area on every IPAD. I have used the adhesive that the new screens come with, i have also tried buying different adhesive and still get the same issue. I make sure the frame is cleaned of any and all old adhesive and i make sure that the frame isn't obstructing the new screen from laying flush. So far i cannot find any answer and i dont understand why im having such a hard time with this issue. Every video i watch never puts much information into this problem and always act as if you just place it down in the right place and it always stays. Any help would be very greatly appreciated. I am finding myself straying away from IPAD repairs because of this issue and if anyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated. thx

iPad Mini: I cracked the inside of my I pad mini

Ok, so I dropped my I pad mini. And I broke the inside of the screen cause there is a hardly noticeable green line at the corner of the I pad, and there are no cracks in the outside. I also have this grayish bar on the side of my I pad that sometimes changes colors, which is making the lighting of my I pad really dim and I can hardly see. Other than that the Ipad still works fine. How do I fix this, do I need to take apart the I pad mini? I have tried resetting it, and restoring it but they both do not work.

iPad Mini: Replacing FPC Digitizer Connector

Greetings!

Finally its happened to me - I broke 2 golden pins of the digitizer connector on the logic board.

I'd like to replace it and I dont have soldering experience of parts that small.

Fortunately I have a dead board to train on.

The question is: how to replace it not removing the whole logic board?

Removing the board drives me nuts!

I see that removal of the connector is quite straightforward since you can sacrifice the connector itself - all videos I found just use soldering iron.

So I'd like to know how to put the new one.

I found a video where the connector is replaced using soldering iron with really small tip - they did it not taking the board out. It looks feasible, but you need to be Jedi not to break the connector.

My question is are there other alternatives? For example, is it possible to use a heatgun, but place it above the board? (I've seen videos with a heatgun, but they place it below the board, so it needs to be taken out). Is it possible to use anything else (infrared lamp)?

Thanks!

iPad Air: Left Side of LCD has shadows/lines after screen repair?

Hey guys,

I've had this issue once or twice now and basically after replacing the glass on an iPad Air, the left side of the LCD has weird shadows going down the side of it. Not sure what caused it as I'm always very careful throughout the repair (expensive devices!) but just wanted to check with the iFixit community to see if anyone had some insight here.

I did a quick search and read about possible firmware issues, although this seemed to be for a different issue than what I'm having.
