I am trying to replace the battery on my Dell XPS 13 9360, but the M1.6x4 screw securing the battery is completely stuck and stripped. I have tried applying downward pressure, using pliers, and checking for tension from other screws, but nothing works. How can I safely remove this stuck screw without damaging the laptop or battery?

I’m experiencing a power‑limit issue: the CPU frequency drops to 300–400 MHz while the temperature stays around 70°C. When I use external case cooling, the system starts working normally, but the CPU temperature rises to about 90°C. I also occasionally get screen flickering, and the motherboard itself becomes very hot. What could be causing this?

I replaced the battery on my Dell XPS 13 9360, but now the laptop is completely dead with no signs of life, power indicator lights, or response to the power button. I have already tried:

- Plugging in a known-working power adapter directly without the battery

- Re-seating the battery connector securely

- Disconnecting both the main battery and the CMOS coin-cell battery for 10+ minutes to reset the system state

Despite all of this, the laptop remains completely unresponsive. Are there any other specific components, fuses, or troubleshooting steps to check when a 9360 won't post or show power after a battery swap?

Update: My laptop turned on after pulling out the correct plug for the CMOS battery. It was hidden from my sight.

I am troubleshooting an Acer Chromebook 14 CB3-431 that will not boot and has no charging lights. The battery is disconnected. The power supply outputs 19.7V, but when plugged in, the voltage drops to 18.2V at the motherboard input socket (4-pin: 2 red, 2 black). Different pin combinations yield slightly different voltages, but the voltage is sagging and nothing turns on. Has anyone encountered this specific voltage sag or a common shorted component on the CB3-431 motherboard input circuit?

The right side volume button stuck on off. I can increase volume side of the button, (it makes an audible click sound) but it immediately returns to off. I tried pulling the volume decrease side (it made no audible click sound) and it didn't help. I need this to work correctly when I'm in tablet mode.

Update 08/21/2026: I replaced the Power/Volume +/- switch with a brand new one $12 on eBay. (FOR DELL INSPIRON 17 (7773 7779 7569 7579）2 in 1 POWER SWITCH BUTTON BOARD 085GTT)

My Lenovo Yoga 7 16ARP8 laptop will not turn on and shows no charging light at all.

Steps I have already tried:

1. Tested multiple working outlets, USB-C cables, and power adapters.

2. Performed a hard power reset by holding the power button for 60 seconds with power disconnected.

3. Opened the lower case, inspected internal components, and verified/reconnected the internal battery and ribbon connectors.

None of these steps resolved the issue or brought back the charging light. What board-level diagnostics or components (e.g. charging IC, USB-C power delivery board, fuses, or MOSFETs) should I test next using a multimeter?

I have noticed that the 1, 2, and 3 number keys on my keyboard have started to fail. I sometimes press normally and it works, but other times I have to slam my finger multiple times to actually get a response and then the key works normally. How difficult would it be for me to replace this keyboard? I am fairly adept in electronics repair and have repaired multiple smart phones and computers in the past.

HP Victus 15-fb1xxx, Ryzen 5 7535HS. Laptop has had 4–5 sudden complete shutdowns. Event Viewer shows Kernel-Power Event 41 with BugcheckCode 0, PowerButtonTimestamp 0 and WHEABootErrorCount 0. After some shutdowns BitLocker recovery appears saying TPM is inaccessible, but after successful boot TPM reports "ready for use." BIOS is F.13 dated 27-03-2026. HP Fast Hardware Test passed CPU, video memory, battery, SSD/disk and other test

Hello.

My low-end ZedAir laptop (it has non-removable battery) does not turn on and been trying to turn it on by the power button for hours.

I can’t figure out the real cause or factor that caused it unusable.

Maybe it is caused by the broken power button, or maybe the battery or maybe even the OS because I was able to open it before with the same issue, and LEDs are lighting up for 1 second after it was plugged in. Please help me!

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!
