Hi! I want to buy a battery replacment kit from ifixit. I know that it is a genuine part but batteries degrade a lot when they are not used. Does ifixit sell the batteries made in the last couple of months, or are they old stock? Thank you!

Hi I have a pixal 7 that went for a swim, after the screen started turning black from the bottom up. I can still connect to it with my pc and it seems perfectly fine even the touch works it's just the screen that doesn't display. Is it a good idea to replace the screen?

Google Pixel 7: Why is fingerprint scanner requiring multiple attempts?

I replaced the screen on my Google Pixel 7 and connected it to my computer to load the fingerprint software. Now the phone requires 2–3 fingerprint attempts every time I try to unlock it.

I removed the existing saved fingerprints and added a new one, but that didn’t help. In fact, the scanner kept saying it couldn’t read my fingerprint during setup. Is there another fix I should try, or is it possible the replacement part is defective?

Google Pixel 7: Screen detached from plastic safety frame

The battery was swollen and pushed the screen out, and when opening the phone I didn’t realise that instead of separating the screen with its frame from the chassis I was actually separating the screen from the safety frame.

The photo above should make it clearer.

Now I imagine the obvious answer would be to get a replacement screen but tbh having already spent 80€ for the battery kit I don’t think it’s worth it (also the screen is fine)

Any chance I can reassemble the screen and frame? What glue could work?

Google Pixel 7: Screen replacement: Forgot a blue liner

I replaced the screen on my Pixel 7. Everything seems to be working normally but i just realized i forgot to remove the lower blue liner on the back of the replacement screen itself before it was installed. I removed the upper liner near the camera hole and sensor but apparently forgot the lower liner. It all seems to be working. How crucial is it for this to be removed. Will i need to get another gasket, remove the screen to remove the liner and reinstall?

Google Pixel 7: Phone worked after battery replacement then suddenly stopped

Hello,

I did the battery replacement of my Pixel 7 and everything looked fine. It powered on and it kept running for quite a bit (around 6h). I put the phone to go through one of the updates and it died.

The phone does not power on. It seems to not be charging and I tried resetting holding buttons and also the find my phone to see if the screen was the issue and nothing.

The old battery was swollen but not fully dead so I tried plugging back again and still no luck.

Any ideas of what I can check? Can I use a multimeter to see if something shortened? I live in a country where Pixel parts are not easy to come about so I am trying everything...

Any ideas are welcome! Thanks!

I've got the BSOD. Thought maybe it was battery, but when I opened it up, I can see that the battery had been replaced before. It appears that when the battery was replaced that new thermal paste was not applied to the motherboard. Does this discoloration indicate motherboard failure?

Google Pixel 7: Got some river water in it, screen started turning blue then black

Phone took a brief dip in the river (in my pocket). Supposed to be "waterproof" so I didn't think much of it. After driving home I noticed the touch screen was registering phantom inputs and I noticed the very bottom of the screen was turning blue. Powered it off and put it in a sealed back with silica packets. The next day I powered it on and the entire screen except for the very upper right corner is solid black. It responds (vibrates) to button presses so I think the logic is working but the screen is def toast. Worth trying to replace the screen or is that blueing/blacking of the screen a symptom of damage to other parts?
