• After pressing the power button the power led turns on.
  • Pressing it again doesn't turn it off.
  • No sound output (beeps or whatever on startup, buttons)
  • I can hard reset it (7sec power + boost button) after which the devices turns off, but doesn't solve the issue
• Can't put in BT Pairing mode
• When plugging in the charger, no battery led indications.
  • The device turns on with the battery only, charger disconnected.
  • The device turns on with charger plugged in, battery disconnected.
  • The device turns on with both connected
• Pressing the power and volume up/down for two seconds make the power led blink 4 times, to turn on/off "auto power management".
• If i connect it to the wall, and then use a cable to connect my phone, it charges the phone.
• After opening it up:
  • Replaced the cable that connects the buttons to main board (damaged it while disassembling, replaced it just to be sure), no change in behaviour
  • When pressing BT + Play/Pause for two seconds, all leds (colours+power+Boost+Bluetooth) start blinking except for the battery leds. Colours stop after 1min or so.
    • When in this state i can't convince the device to hard reset. Need to remove power source to "turn off".

Pictures of the motherboard, no apparent damage, ill review all components when i have a magnifier.

Any suggestions on next steps to diagnose?

I was doing some calculations on my TI 5660 and mid calculation, the printer stopped, it displays an error (E and 0). I checked to see if the paper got jammed, or if the ink ribbon is stuck and both move freely. When I tried to reset the error, the printer makes a buzzing noise and the error is not cleared. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I’m looking for help with a possibly soft-bricked ZOYI/Zotek ZT-703S oscilloscope multimeter.

Symptoms:

• The device powers on normally
• It immediately enters oscilloscope mode
• The oscilloscope itself still works and reads signals correctly
• However, all front buttons become unresponsive in the main UI

What is interesting:

• The buttons DO work in bootloader/USB mode
• POWER + F1 during startup successfully enters USB mode
• F2 successfully exits USB mode

I also have the known “RAM” USB issue:

• The device appears as “RAM” over USB
• Reduced storage size is shown
• Larger firmware files no longer fit

I already tried multiple official firmware versions, but the issue persists.

After researching EEVBlog and the abandoned open-zt703 project, I suspect:

• corrupted persistent settings/filesystem,
• corrupted internal flash state,
• or a firmware/UI crash when restoring oscilloscope settings at boot.

Important findings:

• The STM32 SWD interface appears to still be enabled
• The open-source project documentation mentions:
  • full chip erase,
  • filesystem recreation,
  • settings reset,
  • and recovery through ST-Link + STM32CubeProgrammer

At this point I’m considering buying an ST-Link V2 and attempting recovery through SWD.

Before I do that, I wanted to ask:

• Has anyone successfully recovered a ZT-703S from this exact state?
• Is there a known way to reset only the settings/filesystem area?
• Does a full chip erase also destroy the original bootloader permanently?
• Has anyone dumped the original flash/bootloader?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
